Meeting Spaces

We aim to support faculty collaboration and campus communities of practice for teaching and learning. 

Educational Technology Support 

One-on-one help via phone, email, or in-person (via walk-in, appointment, or workshops including custom ones for your department/school) for all your ed-tech needs. 

  • Instructional Design Consultation: Make your Moodle or Canvas course come alive and engage students for greater success. 
    • Online & Blended (Hybrid) Course Development 
    • Conversion/Creation of existing course activities into learning objects
    • Creation of accessible media and instructional materials

  • Video Production: Utilize our video production micro-studio to create rich instructional media for your online, hybrid, or flipped classroom! 
    • Video Consultation: storyboarding, concepting, and training available 
    • Microlecture recording studio with green screen 
    • Individual training for Camtasia Desktop Video Editing Suite

Instructional Consultation 

Confidential, individual, or group/departmental consultation and custom workshops available to all who teach at SSU (including lecturers and graduate student teaching assistants) offered by Instructional Consultant, Dr. Matthew Callahan (email: faculty.center@sonoma.edu for an appointment). 

  • Common Consultation Topics: Making Grading Efficient, Classroom Management/Preventing Problematic Behavior, Working with challenging Students, Course Curriculum Design, Writing Good Exam Questions, Interpreting SETEs, Reflecting on Teaching for RTP

Assessment of Teaching & Learning 

We aim to foster a campus-wide culture of critical reflection, inquiry, and enhancement of teaching practice. 

  • Consultation on the creation of course-level learning outcomes
